Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund Raiser
To support & provide solidarity with the people of Haiti, The Kerala Club of Detroit in association with the AMERICAN RED CROSS, Detroit Chapter organized a fundraising event for the victims of Haiti Earthquake on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 6th 2010.
During that event, with the whole hearted support and generosity of all the Club members and well wishers, Kerala Club was able to raise about $7000 USD in contributions for the Haiti Earthquake relief efforts in a single day. Along with that, the club was able to collect ever so needed medicines and medical supplies, to be hand delivered and administered directly in a medical camp organized at Port-au-Prince, Haiti by one of our member which has gone a long way in providing medical care to the needy Haitians. It is indeed worth noting that Kerala Club was the highest contributor to American Red Cross in South East Michigan for supporting the relief efforts in Haiti.
